Random sighting of the day. Yesterday at around 6:30 PM, my Dad started banging on the side door and kept turning the door knob trying to get it, as he accidentally locked the door when he went outside. My Mom and I were thinking, “Oh great, what did he do this time.” The last time he banged on the door like that was when his slipped on the wet asphalt driveway and caught his arm on the gate, ripping a deep and wide six-inch gash on his forearm. This time, luckily, he didn’t hurt himself, but was trying to tell us that there was a duck and her five ducklings in the backyard. They were trying to get out of the backyard, but couldn’t seem to find their way out. The ducklings kept going through the fence, but ultimately came back when their mom couldn’t fit. Finally, my Dad got behind them and coaxed them out through the driveway. They eventually made their way through the front yard and continued on their journey down the street.
Maybe next week we’ll have a coyote or a giraffe.
